Standard 'per-word' price
As is common in the industry, we fundamentlally bill for our work based on the number of words in the so-called source document, excluding any images (which are dealt with separately).
Our standard rate is €0.15 for pure translation per 'new' word where applicable. A rate of €0.04 usually applies for proofreading. Where the initial work was produced by another company or individual, we reserve the right to evaluate the text in advance. In the past, it has sometimes proven more sensible to start a translation from scratch!
Discounts
Two types of discount apply from this standard price.
Volume - discounts can be negotiated for volumes of over, 3,000 and 10,000 words or where there is clearly an ongoing commitment to working with Molinos.
Repetitions - our SDL software is able to swiftly analyse your files for repetitions and matches. The quote we provide you with will include significant reductions for these. This particularly surprises clients who send us, for example, lengthy order forms or brochures and then discover that only a fraction of the overall word count is actually chargeable at the full standard rate.
Interpreting
This service is provided on a bespoke basis, and generally in the Manchester / NW region only. The standard hourly rate is €50.
Post Machine Translation Editing
Some clients (particularly those in a rush) prefer us to produce and edit a machine translation (not Google!). We can do this at a rate of €50 per hour making use of the high-end SDL Language Cloud platform.
Tuition
Given that 3 of the Molinos team (including the founder) are experienced qualified teachers and academics, we are happy to offer German and French language tuition in both Manchester and Tralee to both individuals and businesses. Please contact us for more details.
